MICROSOFT 2007 CHRISTMAS PARTY

I’m in Singapore!! HURRAY :D It’s wonderful here and I love my parents’ new place – the pool looks so enticing and I’ve already been to the gym this morning to check it out. My goal exercise to go 3-4x a week because I’ve become quite the fatty in the past few weeks of mega eating and drinking :( Not to mention I’ll be eating my way through Singapore.. so I’d better try and work at least 1/10 of those calories off ;) I already have my New Year’s resolution: get thin!!

Anyway, the night before I left (Thurs), I went to the Microsoft Christmas party with Chris :) It’s really nice how I’ve never skipped a year of attending the Microsoft Christmas party, since we broke up soon after the one last year, but got back together before this one. Heh! It was probably the most elaborate and biggest party this year – on board the brand-spanking-new glass-walled casino ship. I forgot the name (Starship Vegas or something?), but it was just built and so was squeaky clean and perfect. It’s massive, with 4 levels which fit the few-hundred guests. It was a fantastic party – the food was excellent, drinks were copious, and people were fun :)

Best part? THE PERFORMERS!! The Elvis guy at the start was awesome and had me jiggling around just gagging to dance, and the Kylie Minogue look-a-like was actually far prettier and taller and sexier than Kylie herself ;) Not to mention the 2 guys dancing on stage were incredibly hot, though very obviously gay. D’oh! Had a really fantastic time and we originally intended to leave at 10pm when the boat docked, but had so much fun we kicked on to past midnight when the boat docked again.

LA PRAIRIE & STILA, OPERA BAR DRINKS

Strawberrynet were having a cool Aussies-only sale.. so I got a La Prairie de-sensitizing cleanser for waaaay cheaper than retail. It has fab reviews on Makeupalley, so I figured I’ll give it a whirl. I’m still addicted to Jurlique’s Face Wash Cream but only use it in the mornings since it’s a mild exfoliant. This La Prairie one will be good for the evening. My order, on top of the discount, came with a FREE! Stila lipstick in ‘Stella’, which I basically ordered “blind” as I had no idea what colour it was. Turns out it’s a really nice berry red. Cream-based, it really sits on my lips well and for ages, and I like how the colour can be built up. I never use lipsticks (don’t like the way they feel/taste on my lips) so I’m quite impressed with this one.

Anyway, went to the absolutely spectacular Opera Bar after work to meet up with ex-Microsoft workmates for some drinks. The bar is spectacular, and beautiful all lit up under the night sky.
