CASETAGRAM

It’s no secret I’m a tad obsessed with iPhone cases. I just can’t seem to resist them :P Well, at least they’re cheaper than having a handbag obsession, right?!

So I got this custom-made one from Castagram, and I’m loving it! You simply drag in your Instagram pictures into the template, and away you go. Really simple, and the hardest part is probably figuring out which photos you want to use :P

I love it because, though I’m not usually a sentimental person, each picture has some meaning behind it.. some of them obvious to the public, others are private moments behind the pictures that were captured.

It’s nice having all these little memories that all come rushing back, every time I flip my phone and see my case. It makes me smile :)

KROOM KIDDY FURNITURE @ BRANDSFEVER

Check out what came in the mail this week from Brandsfever! They were selling at a great price and were courier-delivered quickly too.

I’ve heard a lot about Kroom and seen them selling in stores, but it was always so expensive I never bought any. I love how the kiddy furniture is all environmentally friendly, requires no tools to assemble (!) and is so easy a noob like me can (and did!) put it together. Their furniture is really lightweight, but super strong and sturdy – it can even take my weight, not just a child’s!

So anyway, I got the Kroom storage bench and Kroom storage box. Each took perhaps 5 mins to assemble, with Hunter watching me and scrambling all over the parts with great interest ;) And…. IT’S SOOOO CUTE!!!! The cheery colours, the sturdiness, the flat-out adorable designs. And they’re so practical too, because now I can pack his toys in there and my place looks a lil less messy :)

What’s so special about Zhai? They specialize in clothing made from 100% organically grown bamboo. which is “environmentally friendly and ethically responsible as bamboo is one of the world’s most sustainable resources.” The lovely thing about bamboo material is that it is odour resistant, hypoallergenic and antibacterial (fab in the summer!) AND can absorb 3x more moisture than cotton.

That’s actually not the reason why I like their bamboo clothing. The main reason for me is that all their clothes are INSANELY SOFT. I kid you not, they feel like supple silk. They drape beautifully, really flatter the figure, and give a lovely simple-yet-chic look.

I’m wearing the Print Dress that is up for grabs here, also in a size Small, though obviously this is mine and you’ll get a brand-new one! What I like about it is that it simply slips right on, feels like liquid silk, and has a beautiful subtle print all over it. I like the deep purple colour because it works for casual wear when work with simple sandals, but is also lovely for a night out paired with a glittery bolero and strappy heels. Have I mentioned how insanely soft it is?!

PLAYING DRESS UP @ SHOPTHEMAG.COM

If you’re a bit of a fashionista, you’ll have heard of Net-A-Porter. Now, there’s shopthemag.com which is the same concept but features top Asian designers. They’re an online store that ships worldwide (free this month with code SHIPFREE), but also have a showroom in their office in Singapore if you want to drop by and check out the items in person. I popped in one afternoon to check out their goodies and to have a bit of a chat with the lovely ladies working there.

It’s a bit of a treasure trove in the showroom, which you’ll absolutely love if you like playing dress-up. So many pretty clothes, sparkly jewellery and chic bags! Check out the Tan & Brown magenta leather clutch below, the colour and feel of the leather was simply luscious.

I also love their assorted beaded bracelets from Jewel Rocks. So colourful and casual work with jeans!

This below is their Burgandy cross-back silk maxi dress and OMG IT IS DIVINE! It looks like a modern take on a Grecian dress, and is ultra soft and luxe, with the most divine drape. I love how delicate it looks, yet not too ‘naked’ looking because of the length of the dress. I’d wear this for shopping in the city, or dressed with a little gunmetal bolero for a dinner.

I also really liked the Burgandy silk button-up playsuit. It’s made of a smooth silk twill and in a very chic navy, offset with matte gold buttons. It’s simple yet elegant, and I really liked it paired with my Repetto kitten heels (which I’m wearing in the pic).

And I know the below pic looks plain, because it’s hard to capture with an iPhone camera, but my #1 favourite item in the whole store is the Alldressedup 2-in-1 sparkly oversized top. It is SOFT SOFT SOFT!! Thanks to the modal material, it has a gorgeous drape, is super smooth, and I feel in love with the shimmer and gold trim. The fabulous thing is that it’s actually 2 tops (look closely at the pic below), so it can be work in reverse, or with each top worn separately. That’s like FOUR outfits for the price of one :P

I paired this with their Disaya scalloped shorts. Never thought I’d be into nude shorts, but the pretty scalloped detailing caught my attention. The silk was really smooth and the waistband sat perfectly on me.

Man, if only I had an unlimited clothing budget or magical source of income! I’m still working on this one.. If you’ve managed to crack the nut already, please share ;)

BITS & BOBS

Just a mini post about fashion stuff.. how adorable are these Jewel Rocks bracelets? They’re made of semi-precious Cat’s Eye stones in my favourite colours – turquoise and pink! They’re threaded on multicoloured cotton thread with tassels on the end, and are adjustable (though I wish they adjusted even smaller for little wrists, cos the tassels keep dragging everywhere grrrr).

Anyway, here’s a funny story. I was skulking around this Etsy store (man I love that whole site!) Leatherprince, and was looking for a cute keychain to buy. After ages, I finally narrowed it down to 2 keychains – cherry and tiger. I liked the former because of the design and the pop of colours, and I liked the latter because Hunter was born in the year of the Tiger and I thought that would make a really cute lil reminder.

In the end, I decided on the cherry keychain because I thought an orange tiger wouldn’t match any of my handbags…. (yet!)…

So I was pretty astonished when about 2 weeks later, I received a package in the mail, sent anonymously. There was no note, no return address.. just…….. the tiger keychain!! I was a bit freaked out – did the seller figure out I liked the tiger too, and decide to send it to me just to be super nice???

Finally, after a couple of days, I found out it was my girl friend that sent it to me as my birthday present! We must think along the same wavelength or something. It was pefect because I had my Hermes Birkin by then, and I regretted not getting the tiger keychain because IT MATCHED PERFECTLY. See?
